HOW WE HELP
What We Provide
The money made in the thrift store helps fund our Emergency Family Services. Some of the services provided are as follows:
-
Food
-
Prescription Drug Assistance
-
Often during home visits, our volunteers discover that a family may not have the basic necessities needed for daily living. In these cases, a voucher is provided to the family, which they can redeem for specific goods in the store.
-
Utility Assistance: SVdP of Alpena responds to the critical need of utility assistance for our Neighbors in Need, helping neighbors meet the basic needs of a healthy safe place to live.
-
Housing Assistance: Help can be provided with rent and mortgage payments, in emergency situations

A Catholic lay organization, leading women and men to join together to grow spiritually, by offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering.

FOOD PARTNERS
We partner with Feeding America, the Food Bank of Northeast Michigan and the Meijer, Simply Give program.
Hunger affects people from all walks of life. Many Americans are a job loss or medical crisis away from food insecurity – some people, including children and seniors, may be at greater risk of hunger.
